Transplanting Trees

Question

I?m planning on transplanting some cedar trees. Can you give me any tips? They are from 1? to 4? in size. What is the best time of year to do this?

  1. Autumn is a good time to transplant your trees, if you don’t mind the rain. They will need to be properly staked for protection against heavy winter winds. When you stake the trees up, put one stake on each side of the root ball and tie them so they are able to move with the wind and not fall over. This allows them to develop a good root system.
