You need to test your water to make sure that your sanitation(chlorine) levels are where they should be(3.0ppm’s) to fight off any bacteria in the pool. Without sanitation you leave yourself open to health risks such as ear infections, gastrointestinal problems, etc. Also the PH levels need to be 7.2-7.8 the ideal level is 7.4 as this is the PH level of your eyes. If the PH levels are lower than a 7.2 or higher than a 7.8 you can experience itching. Stabilizer levels or pool conditioner needs to be at least a 5o ppm to stop the suns’s ultra violet rays from burning off the chlorine in the pool. However, if you have a salt system you must maintain the proper salt levels in the pool in order for it to generate chlorine which is usually depending on what type of salt system you have , is 3500-4500 ppm’s and Ph levels and stabilizer still have to be maintained.

  2. Protecting your investment and protecting the bathers are the two reasons for testing your water on a regular basis. It will help you enjoy your tub by preventing down time and costly repairs due to problems such as corrosion of filters, metal accessories, parts, and heater elements. Most important, testing the water will ensure safe and comfortable water for your friends and family to enjoy.
